VIPer+
More than 10 years ago, ST launched the first series of VIPer® (Vertical Intelligent Power Enhanced Regulator) high-voltage converters from the mains. Today, energy-saving regulations and conservation requirements demand improvements in energy efficiency. The new family of VIPerPlus converters meets this challenge.
VIPerPlus converters combine the innovative 800V avalanche-rugged SuperMESHTM power MOSFET with state-of-the-art PWM circuitry.
The result is truly innovative AC-DC conversion that ensures efficiency, robustness and - with component count halved - saved costs.

- Quasi-resonant operation with allowed operating frequency > 200 kHz further reduces transformer size without sacryficing efficency
- Noisless burst operation
- Extra power timing improves heavy load transients
